BIG HANK LIONHART - Hank's singing career began in High School in Edmonton, 1964. Affer graduation andbehind and journeyed back to Canada where he landed in Edmonton once aguin.Hank sang for many top forty bands in the Capital City and toured all over WesternCanada, eventually ending up in Victoria where he tounded Uncle Wiggly's Hot ShoesBlues Band with Mark "Westcoust" Comerford and bass player, Norm Piercy. Theband had a moderate amount of success recording fwo Albums, being signed to RCARecords and touring across the country, opening for Muddy Waters and Joe Cockermultiple times, us well as George Thorogood and many more. Uncle Wiggly'scompeted at the Infernational Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2015 in the bandcategory and Mark and Hank as the Blue Hearts competed two more times in the soloduo category making it to the semi finals. Hank spent over 20 years in Vancouverwhere he played with the R&B Toasters, and the Kingpins for many years where theyyear career. He continues to write and record and still does some touring.
MARK "WESTCOAST" COMERFORD - Blues guitarist, singer and songwriter, Mark West Coast' Comerford came by hislove of music early. He grew up in Victoria in the 60s with older musician brothersand hardly a day went by in which he didn't hear blues, folk music or rock beingplayed live in the house or on vinyl 45s, 78s and LPs.He started on guitar and banjo but guitar was his main instrument. Afterhigh-school he and drummer Marcus Hondro joined up with experienced bass player> John Fisher. They played blues by Muddy Waiers, Litile Walter and Paul Bulterfieldand began writing their own material.Mark ran an ad in the paper and answering was Hank Lionhart, a singer fromAlberta who'd played in Hot Coftage and other bands and who'd just moved to thecily. Lionhar brought Norm Piercy, a veleran Victoria bass player onboard andPiercy brought along saxophone player Brent Hutchinson. Uncle Wiggly's Hot ShoesBlues Band was born.He became part of an Uncle Wiggly's Hot Shoes Blues Band revival, the bandplaying prominent blues clubs and music festivals in Western Canada. In 2015 theywon the right to compete as BC's entry The International Blues Challenge, whichtakes place yearly in Memphis. Comerford soaked up the music in the Memphis andDelta area. As a duo, he and Leonhardt returned the next year and the year after.
Andy Graffiti - Born in Vancouver, drummer Andy Graffiti hasbeen engaged in making visual, verbal andaural art for decades. After participating in thethen vibrant Victoria jazz scene of the late 70's,he returned to Vancouver and became a wellknown and respected figure in the alternativemusic community during the 1980's, workingwith local and national players and songwritersin many genres. In the latter part of that decadehe began to work in professional theatrethroughout Western Canada, as a musician andsound designer. In the early 90's he began tofocus on the Blues, and continued to tour exten-sively through most of the decade. From NorthBay Ontario Don has been afixture on the Alberta musicscene for the past few decadesand has worked with noted bluesplayers such as Dutch Mason,Hock Walsh (Downchild BluesBand), Lionel Rault, Tony D, andRusty Reed, Calvin Volraith &Country Swing. Don brings hiscountry and roots influences tothe band as well and is lookingforward to reuniting with his pal Big Hank and the Blue Hearts.
